NYPD Now Looking to Intercept Cell Phone Calls in the Name of Terrorism!

Read ArticleArticle Source: NY Daily News
advertisement

New York City has been the leaders of the movement to disarm Americans, instill fear in the people and strip us of all our privacy and rights. And now Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly wants to push the agenda further by asking that cell phone companies cooperate by giving the New York Police Department the technology to spy in on our cell phone calls! Every American should be outraged by this Gestapo violation of our right to privacy and freedom of speech in the name of "Terrorism"! If we don't stop these Neocon Nazi's now, it will be too late by the time we decide to act. Whether you live in NYC or not please do everything you can to prevent this because if they pull it off, YOUR city will be next!!

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

You're damned straight it's alarming.  I'm for protecting us against a terrorist attack as much as the next person, but to be able to intercept our everyday communications in the guise of anti-terrorism goes against the grain.

The words of Benjamin Franklin sum it up quite nicely:  "They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

This is beyond alarming! Naomi Wolf warned about this in her presentation of: "The End of America" ... this is really scary stuff especially when you see it happening before your very eyes!

Bernard:  Thank you for the name Naomi Wolf and the tip on her book The End of America.  I am going to get this book.

I am appalled these days by what is going on all around us.  I feel like people are blind or deaf or both.  They all seem to be asleep.  I know I have a "hairs standing up on the back of my neck" feeling for the policies being put forth today in our country.  When I try to talk about it I am put off or called a nut or some other unkind thing.

I know that there are those out there somewhere that feel as I do, but I get damned tired of being teased about my viewpoint and opinion about the situation.  We are losing our country to socialism and more.

We are losing our country to socialism and more

eel I agree with you that we need to do something about this BUT this is not about socialism. I wish it were, socialism is an ECONOMIC policy that focuses on the even distribution of wealth.... This is about TYRANNY and the Police State that is coming and is already here in NYC. This is another step they are doing to shut down our society and control the masses in the name of fear and 'terrorism'! This is scary stuff and although Americans should focus their attention first on the country BUT then they need to pay attention to NYC because this is the GROUND ZERO for the coming N.W.O. !!

By the way here is the lecture of the book by Naomi, it's a must see and the documentary is even better.

Bernard:  Thank you again.  I'll watch the lecture if I can.

Next, I just want to say that socialsm is more than an economic system.  The following is from an article by C. Bradley Thompson called Socialism vs. Capitalism:  "Under socialism a ruling class of intellectuals, bureaucrats and social planners decide what people want or what is good for society and use the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax, and redistribute the wealth of those who work for a living.  In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft...... Socialism is the social system which institutionalizes envy and self-sacrifice: It is the social system which uses compulsion and the organized violence of the State to expropriate wealth from the producer class for its redistribution to the parasitical class..... Both socialism and capitalism have incentive programs.  Under socialism there are built-in incentives to shirk responsibility.  There is no reason to work harder than anyone else because the rewards are shared and therefore minimal to the hard-working individual; indeed the incentive is to work less than others because the immediate loss is shared and therefore minimal to the slacker."

You might say I just proved your point, but I say that socialism destroys the inherent creativity of a person.  It degrades morals and virtues and eventually, destroys the goodwill of a human being.  It is adverse to freedom.

America is currently in a mixed-type of economic system.  We are no longer completely capitalist.  Our system permits private property, but only at the discretion of government planners.  We have an economic system right now that is a little bit of capitalism and a little bit of socialism.  We have, unfortunately, moved much closer to complete socialism with the bailouts which have effectively begun to nationalize (controlled by government) our banks and our industry.

So yes, absolutely, we must do something NOW.

    Thanks again.

      eel,

The definition of socialism is what it is. In it's absolute form it, like capitalism is no good. The evils of our 'Runaway' capitalism are very similar and would fill this post just as easily. Some of the problems of Runaway Capitalism is that it puts corporate interest above human interest and human rights, large corporations answer to no one, circumvent most of the taxes they pay and have a green light to impose so called 'extracted slavery' from the worker. Not to mention expanding the income gap and enslaving the masses into financial slavery and the crime rates that correlate with any society in which class difference is so vast.  Add to that, the runaway power of large corporations to be able to merge with large governments to overlap Military and Corporate interest when both realize that Wars themselves are a massive form of profit as well as things like the Prison System itself!

So all of this proves that Adam Smith and Karl Marx were both wrong in the absolute sense and neither system on it's own will prevent deep levels of societal problems. Be aware that the left does NOT advocate Socialism. Typical Democrats and left wingers are concerned with human rights, lack of responsibility by corporations and unfair business practice that favor the very rich. This is a Right Wing propaganda used to emotionally arouse their supporters. Are you aware of this?

In other words, socialism is a form of legalized theft.

Legalized theft has been happening forever. Every time a company charges an 'administration fee' or 'connection fee', and obligatory 'contract' or this fee or that fee... what do you call that? These are all forms of legalized theft because the consumer is not given an option. And speaking of legalized theft; The "Bailouts" were the biggest Heist in the History of the World! Bankers run this world and for all of us to watch in broad daylight while they 'legally' steal Billions of tax payer money and give NO accountability whatsoever on how it was used,, all in the name of FEAR. That is Illegal 'legal' theft of the biggest kind.

Bottom line is that I've suggested many times that the key is to make large corporations ACCOUNTABLE to the Consumers AND the government. Without this, the runaway corporations will continue to drag this country down in the name of greed. NFL has a salary cap and MLB has a luxury tax.. Maybe something similar may work? Corporations need the INCENTIVE to STOP growing beyond a certain point or pay a 'luxury'-type TAX (back to the people) ... This would be ONE way to keep the RUNAWAY Corporation in check but I'm not an expert to speak any further on this. I'm just suggesting...

So I think we both agree a 'mixed' or MODIFIED version of Capitalism is needed. A version that will address the corporate Power and Greed issues I outlined.

So yes, absolutely, we must do something NOW.

I couldn't have said it any better!

Absolutely Outrageous!!  Bernard you are right, something needs to be done Now!  Fortunately we still have a legal system, in which evidence obtained illegally cannot be held admissible.  All the same, we cannot have them even uttering such words, that man should be arrested and dragged in front of a judge for Treason.  He should be arrested and serve prison time, period!  Any political official that would attempt to attack the constitution, and especially our right to privacy, is no longer serving their obligation to the public!  So now it is the American people's responsibility to stand united in one voice, and bit--slap those thugs! Cause that's what they are tainted, evil, power-hungry thugs!!!

Thanks Cbagent81, unfortunately most New Yorkers are used to this and are living as dummies reading their "DUMBED DOWN" newspapers showcasing the opinions of the Neocons who run the city. Because they are so used to it, they have NO IDEA what is happening and this is very scary! Everyone in NYC lives in the fear that they have created and everyone thinks the boogie monster ("terrorists") is coming. This is nothing more the a continuation of what began on 9-11.

Read Naomi's Book months ago.............looks like someone in the business of taking the rights of Ny'ers has too.

what a nice centeral place for overt fascist behavior to take hold. NY'ers seem asleep at the wheel instead of at the front of the pack.
